Big Mustard was carved from a solid block of poplar, painted with artist oils (contains walnut oil), and sealed with raw tung oil.

They would prefer to live life as a majestic towel-lined bread bowl in the center of an abundant feast as opposed to housing the largest heap of coleslaw to grace this floating rock. Think yarn next to your favorite rocking chair by the window or folded towels in a bathroom.

As is sometimes the case with carving dynamic pieces, this bowl ended up with some exceptionally thin spots along the walls, as well as some spots of irregular paint saturation. Though it is entirely functional, it’s not as durable as I expect from my work, and it will be offered as a seconds/thirds bowl. I typically don’t offer seconds, but this bowl is too sweet not to extend it to someone who may understand its purpose. Be gentle with it and it should be a nice addition to your home.
